Quimper Faience

Quimper Faience collecting is in our blood...We regularly go on "shopping trips" to France and will be presenting pieces from the major Quimper Faience Factories such as Kéraluc, HB, Henriot, Paul Fouillen, Atelier du Steir, Jean-Claude & Marjatta Taburet...and more as we develop this site.

Scandivian & other European Ceramics

Collecting is exponential ... We will also present on this site top of the range items from factories, workshops and studios in and potentially outside the European region. May they be from French factories & makers (Denbac, Metenier,Pierrefonds,Accolay,Les Argonautes,Jacques Blin,Roger Capron,Jean Derval,Jacques Innocenti,Georges Jouve,Alexandre Kostanda,J&D Ruelland,Vallauris...), the Scandinavian region (Aluminia, Royal Copenhagen, Saxbo, Palshus, Ipsen, Gustavsberg, Rorstrand, Tobo...), Belgium (Aubry, Guerin, Gregoire...) German makers (Roth, Carstens, Ruscha, Scheurich ... and much more as we go along.

Shipping

We ship worldwide (signed for services / insurance) and pay a special attention to the packaging to make sure you receive your selected item in top condition. All shipping costs are to be added to the price of the item.

The Kéraluc Factory

After working succesfully for the main ceramic factories in Quimper (Henriot & HB) Victor Lucas fonded the Kéraluc Factory in 1946 at Locmaria near Quimper. His aim was to produce Breton art combining tradition with originality & modernity, by contrast with the "classic" productions of other factories. Thanks to the freedom the artists were granted and the technical back up they were given a real community of artists developed, producing the most exhilarating works in France in that period, assuring Kéraluc's perpetuity in the current creative artistic landscape.

Description: Pair of candle holders from Pierre Toulhoat, reminiscent of JOUVE. 1950's.

Size: 19cm high for 12 at its largest.

Kéraluc - Pierre Toulhoat

Description: This is the first item from a rare "Service Saint Corentin". It was composed of a large dish and 5 plates. This service was produced on a very small scale due to its manufacturing cost. 1940's.

Size: 20.5cm x2.5cm.

Marks: Handpainted "Keraluc pres Quimper".

Conditions: Perfect apart from a super tiny ding at the back.

Description: Very rare table from this artist. This is a seaside scene with stylised sails and mast, signed by the artist on the bottom left corner. Iron table with 12 ceramics squares.

Description: Amazing tripode vasque. Outstanding glazing work and YES it is marked Keraluc. 1950's design at its best!

Size: 39cm at its widest! 10cm high

Marks: Stamped "keraluc pres Quimper".

Conditions: Perfect, some glaze did not recover the front 2 feets.
